Getting to the login page.

You need to enter in your browser "URL box" the location of your OpenEMR installation. For most users this will be the name of your server followed by a forward leaning slash "/", then "openemr" and another forward leaning slash "/". This should look like this:

http://MyServerName/openemr/

As an example the OpenEMR demo is located at: http://www.oemr.org/demo/openemr/

(Of course I have added "demo" which you shouldn't need unless instructed by your administrator).

This should bring up:

The Login Screen

Logging in

The main login screen should be the first screen to come up in the Internet browser. There should be three input boxes labeled Group, Username, And Password. Once the correct group, user name and password are entered, click on the login button.

If the system does not let you log in check to make sure you are typing in the Username and Password correctly and that your "cap lock" is off.

Changing passwords

Once you log on it's a good idea to change your password to a more secure one. To change your password click on change password in the top menu bar.


This should bring up this screen:

Type your new password twice the input boxes.
Click on save changes.
You should then log out and log back in with your new password.
