creating new pages
The line MediaWiki requires that you create the link to the page before you can create the content is helpful but inaccurate. You can also create new pages by editing the url, or searching for a page which will give you a link to create the page if it doesn't exist. However, it is good policy to never create an orphaned page that doesn't have a link to it from somewhere else.
